The Full Story

Welcome to Our Story of Impact

At Loving Our Children Inc., we believe that every child deserves to feel seen, safe, and celebrated. What began as a simple call to create space for representation has grown into a dynamic movement—one rooted in love, equity, and faith. On this page, you’ll discover where we’ve been, what we’ve built, and how we continue to walk alongside children and families toward a brighter, more inclusive future. This is our journey—fueled by purpose, shaped by community, and centered on the belief that every child’s story matters.

 History & Mission

Founded with the belief that representation heals and empowers, Loving Our Children Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We exist to ensure that BIPOC and historically under-resourced children grow up affirmed, emotionally supported, and accurately reflected in the books they read, the media they consume, and the communities they live in. Since our founding, our work has evolved into a movement of creative equity, family advocacy, and faith-rooted support—all designed to help children see themselves in a positive light.

Representation Through Media (AIM Media)

We produce original, diverse media—books, coloring books, digital resources, and devotionals—distributing them to Title I schools, libraries, daycares, and community centers. Every child deserves to open a book and see a hero who looks like them.

Cultural and Creative Programming

We've sponsored musical productions that affirm identity, launched youth-led publishing through Blended Magazine, and empowered teens through Creatives Are Entrepreneurs Too, a summer camp focused on storytelling, digital design, and entrepreneurship.

Digital Equity Advocacy

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we led regional efforts to address the digital divide in Southeast El Paso County, advocating for internet access and helping students obtain laptops and headphones so they could thrive in remote learning environments.

Policy & Justice Support

We’ve publicly supported child-focused equity legislation in the juvenile justice system and collaborated with partners to amplify the voice of children in advocacy conversations. Justice and dignity are not optional—they are foundational.

Social Justice Activism

Through prayer walks and partnership events—such as those with A21.org (anti-human trafficking)—we’ve engaged the public in real-world justice. Our walks and campaigns activate communities to stand up for the invisible and unheard.

Everyday Impact

Sometimes impact starts with something small. When we discovered that 36 students were sharing just three classroom headphones, we launched a campaign to ensure every child had their own. This is what loving our children looks like—in action.

A Living Mission

Whether through storytelling, worship, education, or advocacy, our mission remains clear: to create affirming environments where every child feels seen, valued, and equipped to thrive. With each program we build and each child we serve, we declare—you are loved, you belong, and your story matters.
